The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me
to bring good news to the poor; He has sent me to bind up the broken-hearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives,
and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor, and the day of vengeance of our God;
to comfort all who mourn;
to grant to those who mourn in Zion—
to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes,
the oil of gladness instead of mourning,
the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit;
that they may be called oaks of righteousness,
the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.
They shall build up the ancient ruins;
they shall raise up the former devastations;
they shall repair the ruined cities, the devastations of many generations.

Are You Leaving a Legacy?

As I write, the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II has just passed. What a magnificent tribute. Awesome in every detail, but perhaps the most important was the proclamation of the hope we have in Christ Jesus, and the reality that we all have a legacy to leave for those who follow. I’m not talking about money or wealth here. I’m talking about righteousness. What legacy are you leaving?

Every time I read Isaiah 61, I am stirred in my spirit. These are the verses that have been seared into my soul since 1982. This passage was, and still is, my ‘call to action!’ This is what Restoring the Mosaic is all about. These verses are the reason that I devoted my career to counselling the most vulnerable; those who had suffered horrific childhood abuse and complex trauma.

It is this passage that continues to inspire me to press on in the work of exposing evil and unrighteousness, so that those caught in its web might be set free; that their broken hearts might be healed and comforted in the promises of God. When this happens, indeed their sadness is turned to joy and there is a spirit of praise in their hearts; God is glorified.

When the wounded, the outcast, the sinner is redeemed there truly is joy in the camp. The amazing thing is that these very outcasts become the ones God uses to rebuild the places (both physically and emotionally) long destroyed by an evil and unjust culture. Those who have suffered much, but then experienced the deep well of healing and freedom, are the very ones whom God calls and uses to set the captive free and rebuild the ancient walls.

They know the depths of despair; and the joy of salvation. May this be our call to action – freedom for those caught in the net of destruction; of lies and deception.

Damaged By Predators Among Us

Good news! I have found a publisher and hope to have the book available by the end of this year (or possibly sooner). There are considerable expenses incurred to not only write, but publish a manuscript. In order to cover these and other ministry expenses, I am hosting a fundraising event on October 28th. This event will be available both in person and on-line. I’ve attached a flyer here and will have more information in the next newsletter, including a breakdown of expenses.

Annihilation Of Humanity

I have begun to write again. This book has been on my heart since 2016 when I was writing Closing the Floodgates. The cover will feature the artwork of Jonathan Taylor, creator of most of the art at the ARK Encounter in Kentucky. This cover design is his inspiration of my vision of 2018. He is currently beginning to paint and will have the design ready in early October. The depiction will stir your soul and give graphic illustration to the written word.

Upcoming Schedule

Bob and I leave today for Calgary, meeting with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Free To Care Ministries. We return on September 28th and I have a couple of weeks at home before leaving for teaching in Hungary on October 11th. Your prayers are greatly appreciated.
