Everywhere we look we are inundated by bad news. News of death and destruction. News of abuse and victim-hood. News of uprisings and anarchy. News of degradation and deception. Then we are assailed by the reality that what news we see and hear could very well be biased at the least, and completely erroneous at worse.
What is real? What is an illusion? What is deception?
What is true?
These last few weeks have shone a light on the need to walk carefully and shine our light brightly. It is a time to be full of humility and grace. It is time once again to fall back into the Word from where our help comes from.
When we can’t make sense out of all that is happening and the multitude of voices demanding and seeking our attention…
When we have become ‘battle weary’ from defending truth…
This is when we need to return once again to our rock and shield.
We need to lean on the defender of the weak and the healer of the broken.
It is once again time to cry out to Jesus.
Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted. In your struggle against sin you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood.
Hebrews 12:3-4
When we turn our eyes on Jesus, the worries and weariness of the day begins to dissolve. When we think of the pain He endured, the cross He bore, the humiliation He faced and the sacrifice He made, our load begins to feel light in comparison. The perspective changes. We can inhale deeply of His goodness and be confident that Holy Spirit is refilling and refueling us.
His is the Kingdom that will not be SHAKEN
