Celebrating Deviancy

A Short History Lesson

I was doing some investigation into the people of Nineveh (c 700 BC).  It was the oldest and most-populous city of the ancient Assyrian empire; situated on the east bank of the Tigris River and encircled by what is now the modern city of Mosul, Iraq.  Nineveh was a fertile agricultural area and King Sennacherib made Nineveh into a magnificent city. The total area of Nineveh comprised about 1,800 acres.  Jonah records that it took three days to walk around it and had a population of 120,000.

Digging deeper, I discovered Nineveh was founded by Nimrod (the hunter) who also built the tower of Babel and lead the people in rebellion against God.

The Ninevites lived large. They had the best chariots, the finest food, and the most exotic entertainment.  It had an extensive business and commercial system.  Assyria had ruled the world for 200 years and was the strongest military power of the time.  It was also the center of worship for Ishtar, the goddess of war, fertility, and sex. Ishtar temples and shrines were numerous and incorporated sacred prostitutes, of both sexes. Her clergy were both male, female, as well as men who castrated themselves, and women who identified as males.

The Ninevites were well-known for their savagery in plundering cities. They were greatly feared.  Graphic accounts of their cruel treatment of captives have been found in Assyrian records, which I will not elucidate here. Ninevites did not hide their depravity. They celebrated and proclaimed it! They even built monuments to their own cruelty! Is it any wonder that Jonah said, “God, they drink hatred in Nineveh, and I won’t go!”

You probably have heard the rest of the story! (Found in Jonah chapters 3 and 4.)

The comparison between Nineveh and our current culture is obvious.   But Nineveh was not the only city or nation in the Bible that faced such judgement and where God intervened through individuals.  Consider these examples:

  • The Hebrew midwives were rewarded by God for disobeying Pharaoh’s evil order. (Exodus 1: 15-21)
  • Moses refused to comply with Pharaoh’s demands  (Exodus 1-14)
  • Daniel refused to comply with the king’s edict regarding prayer. (Daniel 6)
  • Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego refused to bow down to the king’s image. (Daniel 3)
  • Samuel rebuked King Saul when he was wrong. (1 Samuel 15: 10-31)
  • Nathan rebuked King David for his sin. (2 Samuel 12:1-15)
  • Elijah rebuked King Ahab. (1 Kings 18:17-40)
  • Isaiah rebuked the rulers of Jerusalem. (Isaiah 28: 14-15)
  • Isaiah rebuked King Hezekiah. (Isaiah 39:3-7)
  • Jeremiah rebuked the people and kings of Israel. (Jeremiah 13, 19, 26)
  • The wise men did not comply with King Herod’s demand. (Matthew 2: 8 & 12)
  • John the Baptist rebuked Herod the tetrarch. (Luke 3:19)
  • Peter and John refused to obey the religious rulers, saying “We should obey God rather than men.” (Acts 5:29)

The question is: what will we do in our generation?

Heightening Awareness

Gender Ideology

In case you didn’t see this; The Epoch Times did a great article recently on Gender Ideology being taught in our schools. Click here to read article.

In December I will do a couple important interviews with Chanel Phal on what she’s experienced happening in our public schools, so you’ll definitely want to tune into  Podcast – Restoring the Mosaic.

While there are many great teachers; there are more and more who are advocating for an LGBTQ-advancing curriculum beginning in JK.

So many parents are unaware and the majority of Christian churches are doing little to inform their congregants of the dangers within the public school system.

Sex Ed Repercussions

LGBTQ curriculum in daycare?  The answer is a resounding – Yes.

A daycare in Kitchener, Ontario, RisingOaks Early Learning is brazenly pushing gender ideology on two to four-year-olds.

“Worm Loves Worm” and other LGBTQ-themed books were in the curriculum.  Warning will not be given to parents when these books are read, and no parental consent is necessary.

Their Facebook page brags about pride events, pride flag raising ceremonies, and veggie trays and snacks that are designed to look like pride flags. LGBTQ flags and paraphernalia hanging in nearly every classroom, shoe cubby, and bulletin board.1

PARENTS ARISE:  These are not the views and values that the vast majority of Canadians wish to be pushed on 5-year-olds.

This past week I was talking with a 17-year-old young man who told me how horrific it is to enter his high school.  From the moment he walks in in the morning until he leaves at the end of day he and his peers are constantly bombarded with LGBTQ slogans, flags, curriculum, and pronouns and bullied into submission to this ideological construct.

Then later last week, I talked with a young father who was told by a local school teacher that children in middle school are having sex on the school bus.

When the foundational ethic of our society is being dismantled and the nuclear family is declared obsolete is it any wonder that children are set adrift on a sea of sexual experimentation and abuse?

More than ever we need educational options and constructive ways to teach our children.  Since the first week of November I have been focusing my podcast https://restoringthemosaic.ca/podcasts/ on this very issue.  My interview with educator Bruce Friesen was posted on Monday. On the Lighter Side

The Daily Signal has just released the trailer for a new movie – a comedy no less and it looks great.  We could all use a little comic relief over the holidays. Watch the trailer here.

I want to thank you again for your continued prayer and support. It’s what helps me to keep producing, speaking and writing

Financial Needs

I want to make you aware of my financial needs.  For me this is the most difficult thing to speak about. There are some things I stink at – self-promotion and asking for money!  I try to hide from both.

I have some wonderful friends who are helping me with promotion, but it costs money.  Also, you might remember that I spoke about hiring a media group (they already do my website and newsletter) to produce a weekly podcast called Truth Talks with Dr. Ann, which is going very well.  This is something that my husband and I are seeding into at a cost of $3,500.00 per month as we are determined for people to hear truth and to awaken the Christian church to the danger of silence in the face of evil.

Along with these monthly expenses is the very factual reality that I am often not paid for speaking or travel. Barbados is a case in point.  Although they will provide for my accommodation, these small churches are unable to pay cost of the airfare of $842.00.

Many speakers would simply not go, but many years ago I told the Lord that I would not allow money to be the determining factor on where I speak. So far, I’ve been able to honour that commitment due to donations from a few loyal friends.

In order to continue I am reaching out to you.  Regular monthly donations from readers would be a great help, whether it be $10 or $100, or simply a onetime contribution.  I am currently working with the Oak Center for Studies in Faith and Culture.  If you require a receipt please donate through this site. Click TeachBeyond Oak Centre Online Donation Page where you will be able to contribute either by credit card or etransfer. Again, thank you for taking the time to read this important request and more importantly my newsletter.

Make sure you tell your friends to sign up for the newsletters on RestoringTheMosaic.ca and also to watch Truth Talks with Dr. Ann.

Onward and Upward,
